Mission Statement
It is the intent of the program to teach life skills and basketball skills which provide opportunities for success. As a team, the coaching staff will always model and encourage the following four objectives:
1.We are going to play hard. Anything less than 100% cheats the team and the individual.
2.We are going to play smart. We must play within the team structure and recognize individual abilities and limitations. We must understand team objectives and carry out the plan of the coach.
3.We are going to play together. We will celebrate all team victories, large or small, and we will celebrate the success of the team, always. The success of the team is the greatest feat in team sports.
4.We will have fun. Basketball is a game to be enjoyed. However, fun is the result of hard work!
I believe the student-athletes in the AGS Girls Basketball program must be respected as people. Reciprocally, the athletes must respect their parents, teachers, coaches, teammates and officials at all times; respect breeds respect. The lasting impression we, as a coaching staff, want the athletes that come through this program to have is one of pride, accomplishment, and strength in self-worth. The coaching staff and all others associated with the program will promote a positive attitude, high expectations of character, honesty, and integrity.

*Be a leader!! The entire school looks up to athletes. You have a tremendous opportunity to make a difference.
*Accept constructive criticism. Make any necessary adjustments to your actions or behaviors and move on.
*Take Pride in Yourself. The maintenance of your appearance, personal hygiene, and attitude go far in defining yourself.

The following conduct can result in temporary, and in extreme cases, permanent suspension from the team.
1.Athletic Code Violation
2.Suspension from class or school.
3.Poor effort on class work that could jeopardize eligibility.
4.Unsportsman - like conduct toward coaches, players, or officials.
5.Unexcused absences from practices and/or games. Each practice must be made up prior to game participation. Games missed will result in sitting out the same number of games upon return.
I, as the head coach, want to build and maintain a program that our athletes, student-body, faculty and community are proud to be associated with for the rest of their lives. When our athletes put the uniform on it will mean something to them & to everybody. We will be successful!
